Tobias Ringborg is about to make his debut at Opera North in Leeds, England, with Puccini’s La Bohème. Phyllida Lloyds production will be revived with an international cast on May 4, and will go on tour to Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham. Performances run through July 1.

His main project for the summer of 2010 will be the recording of Jacopo Foroni’s belcanto masterpiece Cristina di Svezia, for the Sterling label. It will take place in Gothenburg in August, with the chorus and orchestra from Gothenburg Opera. Cristina di Svezia had it’s premiere in Stockholm in 1849 and was again performed in Vadstena in 2007, after more than 150 years!

NEW RELEASE - JOACHIM RAFF: WORKS FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA

Sterling has released a CD with Tobias Ringborg playing previously unrecorded works by Swiss/German composer Joachim Raff. Raff was a protegé of Liszt, and although little remembered today, he was one of the big names of German music in the 19th century. The pieces are extremely virtuosic and very romantic!!! Tobias Ringborg is accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of NorrlandsOperan, with conductor Andrea Quinn. Listen and enjoy!!!
